May 2014 saw Plaisterers’ Hall host the Platts Global Metal Awards Ceremony. The ceremony honoured excellence and accomplishments in the global metal industry, seeking to reward excellence in leadership, innovation, safety, integrity and overall performance with an annual black tie gala dinner and awards ceremony.
Guests arrived to the sounds of our production partner Fullcircle’s steel drum band playing in the Livery Hall, where a welcome drinks reception was served. Here canapés were served by our exclusive caterer, Create Food & Party Design. These included gin and tonic battered prawns, twice baked artichoke soufflés and Salcombe bay crab tartlets.
Following drinks guests moved into the main hall for a decadent dinner. Main courses included roasted sirloin of british beef served with new potato and braised beef croquettes, wilted spinach, buttered asparagus spears and hickory hollandaise, as well as a vegetarian option of artichoke, morel and baby spinach Wellington with creamy mash, roasted leeks, jumbled peas and broad beans and sage cream.
Dessert was Create’s Viennetta – dark chocolate and hazelnut ice cream with chocolate crisp, muddled summer fruits, vanilla tarragon purée and broken homemade honeycomb was then served as guests were entertained by an electric string trio. And then it was time for the award winners to be announced, and the celebrations to begin!
