Key Wedding Trends for 2017

You’ve had the perfect proposal now it’s time to start thinking about the big day! Here is some inspiration from this year’s key wedding trends to create your perfect wedding.

Greenery – natural theming

The Pantone Colour of the Year is Greenery and this will definitely see a focus on all-things-natural in theming. Think of succulents for your table centres or trailing foliage with candles to dress the wedding breakfast tables. The greenery creates a lush and beautiful naturalness to your theming and when paired with the crisp white of linen or the venue setting; a stunning impact for your guests. Bring the outside in!

Paper Flowers

You could go the other way and opt for flowers or foliage that lasts, in the form of paper. Striking big blooms can be created in lots of different colours and in so many different shapes. This design element could be incorporated in as an activity for a hen-do, adding an extra personal touch to the whole day.

Satin, Bows, Capes and Pastels

The fashion trends likely to be a hit will be beautiful romantic details in wedding dresses. Soft feminine bows will be key design details as well as sumptuous satin for that luxurious feel. Capes will be a stunning accessory with delicate lace and intricate beading. Pastel hues for either your wedding dress or your bridesmaids will add another level of dream-like romance.

Metallic

‘All that glitters’ will no doubt be a big trend this year. We’ve seen stunning interior design adopt these design accents of rose-gold, brass and copper and adding these to your wedding scheme will create another level of sophistication. From your choice of cutlery to candle holders, there are so many ways in which you can add a touch of glam. Marble detailing works beautifully with these metallic hues. Within the neoclassical setting of Plaisterers’ Hall, these embellishments will be the perfect match!

Industrial

Industrial design with an emphasis on exposed light bulbs, metals and exposed brick is also increasingly popular. Have your initials in big bold lights or string lights suspended above your guests. Metal chairs can also add that industrial feel to your wedding. An industrial theme can allow for simpler paired back décor.

Interactive Food Stations

Catering stations allow people to personalise or ‘pimp’ their food, be it desserts or even drinks. Stations are a great way for guests to sample food and drink as they please and for you to get creative with the options. Donuts are going to be huge – they can be stacked or looped over pegs in a decorative display. Wedding cakes are also getting more creative – drip cakes that look like a Jackson Pollack masterpiece or you could opt for a geode cake for some bejewelled gemstone glamour.  Create Food and Party Design can create bespoke food and drink stations to suit your preferences with imaginative and flawless execution. It’s important to us that our menus resonate with you on a personal level and the food holds an emotional attachment for an unforgettable experience.
