Plaisterers’ Hall Plays Host to The Variety Club

Thursday 26th November saw Plaisterers' Hall stage its first major event for The Variety Club Children’s Charity. The fundraising event was the launch of The Variety Club Disability Sports Committee in association with SportsAid, a new exciting Grants Scheme to support young, talented, disabled athletes to reach their goal of competing at London 2012.

150 guests were entertained by comedian Keith O'Keefe. A number of budding Paralympians chasing the London 2012 dream were present, as well as Triple Paralympic Gold Medallist swimmer Giles Long (MBE). The world of Sport also supported the evening with former Olympic and 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant Mark Foster.

Much needed funds were raised on the night for this wonderful cause and The Variety Club were very pleased with their first event at the Hall. Anne Wandsworth, who chaired the event, quoted "It was an excellent dinner last night - thank you and your staff very much for the attention that you gave to all the details."
